Totem Axe Farming troubles
I am farming totem axes, but every time I do the run I do not get a single axe. Am I supposed to do it on hard more? or am i missing something?

Thank you for quick reply.
And I would think that with the double drop chance weekend I would have some luck. Oh well.

Hate to say this but.... Totems are Green Weapons and have a slight chance to drop.
You`ll find ppl who farm them do a lot of runs before getting 1 - you never see ppl with more than a few selling them otherwise they would be too common and almost worthless because of easy farming.
I waited 70 runs before i got an elemental sword drop in raptors cave ( wasnt farming them ) and yet my wife goes in and 3rd run ever gets 1 - i almost cried lol
Bottom line - keep at it till they drop and dont be put off by waiting.

are you making sure to kill the root behemoths in "The Falls"? There are other roots, but only the ones in the falls drop the axes.

No I'm very sure. And If I run with another person, does the drop rate get lowered? (not because my chance of it being assigned, but the chance that one will drop at all.)

According to wiki, The more people in your party, the higher amount of drops. So it doesn't necessarily increase the drop rate of the item, but there will be more drops...so it kind of raises the rate in a way.

Green weapons are exempt from loot scaling. Totem Axe farming is best done solo, unless adding an additional party member more than doubles your speed.
@OP: You just had bad luck. I ran through that zone when they were first added, and got 3 in one run. Other times, you get zero. Random chance is, well, random.

MisterB - what he means is the more ppl in the party the more a chance someone will get it.
If your having bad runs try adding heros/hench and keep them pinned at entry point then do your run ... remember party members grayed out ( out of map range ) dont get assigned drops and those in range will gain the drops - tho you can lose money ( h/h getting their cash share ) you shud make up in drops.

tl;dr: putting heros in your party will not increase the number of totem axes that drop.

Drop rate of totem axes is about 1 in 10, as there are about 15-20 behemoths in the falls you usually get 1 or 2, sometimes 0, sometimes 3 or more. I think my worst streak was 3 runs in a row without one.

I head out there from time to time because it's a fun run on my Ranger. I don't think I've ever gone and not gotten 1, I don't think I've ever gotten 2 solo, but always atleast 1. I've done it duo and had both of us get one several times.
Baed luck I'd say.
Also I always go in Normal Mode.

Yes, normal mode, there is no no benefit in hard mode as far as axe drops.
Best I got was 5 in a run, had a few 4s, always solo, there is absolutely no need to do this with anyone else, its so easy. As a ranger you can do it with 3 skills on your bar, troll unguent, poison arrow and dodge.
